My Apple Pie Recipe

  1. Preaheat oven to 175C
  2. Combine flour and salt. Add butter to flour mixture and break apart each cube with your fingers. Add ice water and knead until a shaggy, flaky dough is formed. Wrap the dough in foil and let chill for 2+ hours
  3. Combine the apples, sugar, and spices in a bowl and mix until eavh slice is coated. Let sit while preparing the crust
  4. On a floured work surface roll out each ball of dough until they reach a diameter of about 12 inches. Layer the first crust on the bottom of a pie dish.
  5. Add in the apples and press down. The apples should be packed tightly together with a denser middle. This will create the pie shape.
  6. Place the top crust over the apples and press the edges together. Use a fork to press the bottom and top crusts together along the edge of the pie pan. In the center of the top crust create a slit to allow ventilation while baking.
  7. Bake in the oven for 1 1/2 hours or until the sugar is bubbling and the crust is slightly golden.
  8. Allow to cool for 2+ hours.
